Financing: Making the Numbers Work

Massachusetts offers outstanding financing and rebates to customers and businesses that choose to upgrade to high efficiency. One of the biggest hurdles to replacing equipment is funding the upfront costs. Massachusetts offers the Heat Loan Program (through www.masssave.com) and rebates for installing energy saving equipment (through www.gasnetworks.com). The Heat Loan Program allows utility customers to finance new high efficiency equipment and energy saving upgrades with low interest loans from 0% to 3% for up to seven years. Our experience has proved that customers net heating expenses (gas/oil expense + loan payments) are usually less than their pre-upgrade gas/oil expense. The Heat Loan Program can be used to fund heating, hot water (including solar), insulation and window upgrades. To help customer pay down the added cost of high efficiency equipment Massachusetts offers a number of rebates. High efficiency furnaces, boilers, water heaters and programmable thermostats are eligible for these rebates. The rebates range from $1000.00 to $25.00. All of the equipment that Labrador Services features as standard offering is eligible for rebates. The equipment rebates usually allow customers to realize a net savings on installing high efficiency equipment (over standard efficiency equipment) in under two years.
